I’m Akhilan Boopathy, a founder at Kuai, where I build training algorithms that make foundation model development faster and more cost-effective.
I received my PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT in 2025, advised by Ila Fiete. My research has focused on neural network scaling laws, generalization, and methods for improving learning efficiency.
I also earned my SM in 2022 and SB in 2020 from MIT. Earlier in my research career, I worked on adversarial robustness and biologically plausible learning algorithms for neural networks.
